Choose certification software by testing a real credential journey, not by counting features on a pricing page.
1. What exactly is the program issuing?
Ask whether the system distinguishes a certificate of completion, professional certification, continuing-education record and digital badge. These labels represent different claims. If every outcome becomes the same PDF, providers may overstate what was assessed.
Enrolius treats credential types as explicit records and leaves responsibility for the claim with the issuing provider.
2. How can a learner qualify?
A mature program may use a course, external evidence or a manual approval route. The software should not force every learner through content when the policy permits prior evidence. It should also avoid issuing a credential merely because someone opened or completed a lesson.
3. Is learning included?
Confirm whether you need another LMS. Enrolius includes text, PDF and embedded lessons, quizzes and progress. SCORM 1.2 is available in beta. SCORM 2004 is not part of the initial release.
During onboarding, providers can select Enrolius Learning, a no-course route or an existing-LMS route in preview.
4. What does public verification prove?
A verification page should confirm a provider-attributed record using a hard-to-guess reference and expose only necessary information. It should not imply accreditation, licensing approval or endorsement that the provider does not possess.
5. How are expiry and renewal handled?
Look for issue and expiry dates, a defined reminder, evidence or learning requirements, approval and preserved history. Enrolius initially provides one renewal reminder; a provider should plan any additional communication separately.
6. Can the first program launch without a project?
A product-led platform should let you test real work. Enrolius Free supports one program and three learner places permanently, with no card and no trial deadline. That is enough to validate onboarding, learning, evidence, issuance and verification.
7. Which promised features exist today?
Ask vendors to separate generally available capabilities, beta features, previews and roadmap items. For Enrolius, external LMS and accounting connectors, advanced bulk-seat commerce and SCORM 2004 should not be presented as part of the initial general release.
Run one proof scenario
Create a normal learner, an evidence-based learner and an expiring credential. Test export and an exception. Document every step that leaves the platform. The product with the clearest authoritative record is usually the safer choice.
Frequently asked questions
Should integration count decide the purchase?
No. Select integrations that serve a documented workflow and verify their production status. A long catalog does not guarantee reliable data ownership.
Is a free trial enough?
A time-limited trial can reward a quick demo. A permanent free plan lets a provider test the operating rhythm over time.
