How to Structure a Certification Offer Before You Publish It

Define audience, outcome, criteria, delivery, credential, validity and support before publishing a certification program.

In this article

A certification offer is complete when a prospective learner can understand the outcome and the provider can consistently decide who earns the credential.

Define one audience

Start with a specific role, experience level or use case. A broad audience creates conflicting prerequisites and generic content. Write down who should not enroll as well as who should.

State the outcome

Complete the sentence: “After meeting the criteria, the holder has demonstrated…” This becomes the boundary of the credential claim and the foundation for assessment.

Choose the qualification route

Decide whether learners use Enrolius Learning, submit evidence or follow a no-course route. Enrolius Learning includes text, PDF and embedded lessons, quizzes and progress, with SCORM 1.2 in beta. Existing-LMS onboarding is a preview, not a guarantee of every connector.

Specify criteria

Criteria should be observable. Include pass thresholds, required evidence, reviewer roles, resubmission and exceptions. If course completion alone is sufficient, say so. If it only creates eligibility, identify the approval step.

Select the credential type

Use a certificate of completion, professional certification, continuing-education record or digital badge according to the evidence. Do not use “accredited,” “licensed” or “recognized” without support from a named authority.

Set validity

Choose issue and expiry rules based on the currency of the claim. Define the renewal requirement and the timing of the one Enrolius renewal reminder.

Explain support and privacy

Tell learners where to ask for help, how evidence is handled, which information may appear in public verification and how corrections are requested.

Decide the commercial process

The initial Enrolius product focuses on program and certification operations. Advanced storefront, payment, paid bulk-seat commerce and accounting connectors are later scope. Describe the payment process that actually exists; do not market a planned integration.

Pilot before promotion

Use the permanent Free plan for one program and three learner places. Test the expected route, an exception and verification. Improve the offer from observed questions before investing in acquisition.

Frequently asked questions

Should pricing appear on the page?

If the price and purchase route are current and unambiguous, yes. If payment is arranged separately, state the approved next step clearly.

How long should the program description be?

Long enough to answer eligibility, effort, criteria, credential, validity and support. Remove generic claims that do not help a decision.
