Use an LMS when structured learning delivery is a substantial part of the program. Do not buy one merely because the final outcome is called a certification.
Start with the qualifying evidence
If the credential requires a sequence of lessons, assessments and tracked progress, learning software is appropriate. If qualification depends on a portfolio, workplace observation or a prior credential, an evidence route may be enough.
Three common models
Native learning
Enrolius Learning provides text, PDF and embedded lessons, quizzes and progress. It suits focused programs that do not need a broad enterprise LMS. SCORM 1.2 is available in beta.
Existing LMS
A mature organization may retain an LMS for extensive catalogs, sophisticated learning administration or corporate requirements. Enrolius onboarding includes an existing-LMS route in preview. Specific production connectors must be confirmed; do not assume every LMS is already synchronized.
No course
Evidence, live assessment or manual approval can qualify a learner when the published policy permits it. Enrolius supports no-course and evidence-based certification.
Questions that reveal the answer
- Must learners follow a sequence?
- Is progress part of the evidence?
- Are quizzes sufficient, or is human assessment required?
- Do you need interactive packaged content?
- Does another department already operate an LMS?
- Will completion issue the credential or only start review?
- Which system must retain the authoritative record?
Avoid duplicate truth
If two learning systems are used, assign ownership of identity, enrollment, completion, certification evidence and credential status. Stable identifiers and exception handling matter more than a vague “integration” promise.
Think about the learner
Additional systems create additional accounts, handoffs and support issues. A separate LMS is justified when its capability improves the program enough to offset that complexity.
Start with the smallest valid setup
Enrolius Free supports one program and three learner places permanently. Test native learning, an evidence route and public verification before deciding whether an external LMS adds necessary value.
Frequently asked questions
Is Enrolius only a certification database?
No. It includes built-in learning and the learner experience alongside credential operations.
Can Enrolius deliver SCORM 2004?
No, not in the initial release. SCORM 1.2 is the supported beta format.
