Zapier can move information between applications. It does not, by itself, become the authoritative record for certification eligibility, evidence, issuance or expiry.
What Zapier is good at
Zapier's official product information describes automated workflows across thousands of applications, including conditional Paths and webhooks. That makes it useful for notifications, lightweight data transfer and repetitive administrative triggers.
For example, a provider might use an automation to notify an internal channel when a form is submitted. The automation is the courier; the receiving system still needs to decide whether the evidence is valid.
What a certification platform must own
A certification system should preserve the program rule, learner identity, accepted evidence, reviewer decision, credential type, issue date, expiry date, verification state and renewal history. These are domain records, not just fields passed between apps.
Enrolius provides that operational core and includes native learning. It does not require Zapier to create a program, deliver supported content, enroll learners, issue credentials or run public verification.
Why automation chains become fragile
The risk grows when a workflow spans a form, spreadsheet, LMS, payment tool, email tool and certificate generator. Field names drift. Duplicate events create duplicate records. A failed step may be invisible. Staff cannot tell which application contains the final truth.
If Zapier is used, give each event a stable identifier, make actions safe to retry, log exceptions and define one authoritative system per record type.
Current Enrolius boundaries
Enrolius supports native lessons, quizzes and progress, SCORM 1.2 beta, evidence and no-course routes, typed credentials, expiry, one renewal reminder and basic import/export. Existing-LMS onboarding is preview. Production connectors to accounting platforms and every LMS are later work, so they should not be marketed as live through either Zapier or a native connector.

Choose Zapier for low-risk coordination between supported apps. Choose Enrolius when the outcome is a governed certification record. Many organizations may eventually use both, but the automation layer should never be the only place where a certification decision can be reconstructed.
